After a break day (where I totally wussed out of going to Crater Lake), I saw my next play in my OSF adventure, Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but was somewhat excited knowing the lead Pip was played by Benjamin Bonenfant, who was so impressive the last few years at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. The staging was managed well; a very plain stage, but by moving people around, and interspersing narration, it moved along well. Initially I though the story would be a bit bland, but the tension slowly builds as whether or not Pip will succeed or succumb to his ambitions. It was quite moving in the end. [Trailer]
