On a warm evening Bob and I made our way to the vineyard to see SPARC Theater’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Boy, it was a good one. The acting was great, and the production (even on the small stage) was impressive. The character of the ghost was brought in the form of 3 marionet spirits that would form into the King’s ghost. It was quite well done. Sadly we lost a good chunk of that audience at the intermission. I overheard comments of ‘hard to follow’. At the end even Bob even commented that he had forgotten everybody ends up dead, and probably prefers the comedies. I don’t know what they’re talking about. It was a great tale, well told, and I’m glad I got a chance to see it. This is my second (and probably last) Shakespeare of the season. Sadly my overheating was a portent of being a bit sick as I spent the next few days in bed with a fever.
